Meetinghouse and Westminster Elementary Schools PTO

2009 - 2010 Fundraisers

Our PTO has a few different fundraisers throughout the year. As this is our major source of budgetary funds, we appreciate as much involvement as possible. The PTO also welcomes donations if you'd rather not purchase products from any of our fundraisers. All donations to the PTO are tax-deductible since we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Checks made payable to Westminster PTO can be sent to Westminster Elementary School, 9 Academy Hill Road, Westminster, MA 01473 or sent into school in your child's backpack to the attention of the PTO.

In addition to these fundraisers, we also raise a significant amount of money through ongoing programs like SCRIP, BoxTops, Labels, Cell Phone and Ink Jet recycling and more!

Now with the weather getting cold, nothing warms you up like a hot bowl of Campbell's soup and some goldfish. Do not forget to cut off the labels and send them in to the school. So send in the labels. We hope to see new play ground toys soon from this program. Denise Smith and Melissa King are chairing the Campbell's Label program this year.

Book Fair at WES and MHS Successful!!!

Over 50 volunteers helped to make the PTO's Annual Book fairs at WES and MHS a big hit! Children, families and teachers were pleased with the large selection of books available to them. Families were very generous with their donations to One for Books, which raised $193.84 for kids at MHS and WES and the libraries at both schools. A matching donation is made in our schools' name by Scholastic to a children's literacy based charity. We're very pleased! Over 100 books were purchased by families for their teacher's classrooms as part of our Teacher Wish List program and the Westminster PTO purchased books for all teachers and specialists as well as over $1200 in books for the libraries at both schools! Since the school’s budget has not purchased new books for the libraries in a number of years, these purchases with Book Fair revenues are extremely important and most welcomed by students and teachers alike! Thank you for your support of the Book Fair annually. It takes a lot of effort by many volunteers to carry off these 2 week long book fairs…it is really worth it! Consider getting involved next year!
